About Me
John Nustad is a Loan Officer with Guild Mortgage in Longview, TX, and is an East Texas native. With more than 10 years of experience in the mortgage and banking industry, his goal remains to provide first-class service to customers with professionalism, the heart of a teacher and transparency.
He serves on the Kilgore College Foundation Board and Senior Advisory Council for the City of Longview. He is an active member of the Longview Area Association of Realtors, Longview Chamber of Commerce, Greggton Rotary and the First United Methodist Church of Longview. Mr. Nustad previously served as the President for Boys and Girls Clubs of the Big Pines and advisory council for the Longview Housing Authority. In 2022, he was a finalist for ETX View’s Forty Under 40 for Banking & Lending. In 2019, Mr. Nustad was awarded Affiliate of the Year by the Longview Area Association of Realtors and Longview Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Longview graduate. Mr. Nustad received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington and lives in Longview, TX with his wife of 10 years and two children (6,4).

The Department maintains a recovery fund to make payments of certain actual out of pocket damages sustained by borrowers caused by acts of licensed residential mortgage loan originators. A written application for reimbursement from the recovery fund must be filed with and investigated by the Department prior to the payment of a claim.
