Corey Burton

Corey Burton is a Richmond native and Loan Officer with Guild Mortgage who has been helping homebuyers navigate the mortgage process since 2021. A former health and physical education teacher and football coach, Corey brings the same qualities that shaped his first career; communication, preparation, adaptability, and guidance; to every home financing experience.

 

Serving Richmond and surrounding communities including Chesterfield, Henrico, Hanover, and Midlothian, Corey works with buyers at many different stages of homeownership. He particularly enjoys helping first-time homebuyers who value extra education and guidance, as well as move-up buyers looking for a lender who can keep the financing side of their next move organized and on track. His lending experience includes conventional, FHA, VA, jumbo, and other financing solutions available through Guild Mortgage.

 

Corey believes a lender's value becomes especially clear when a transaction gets complicated. Rather than disappearing when challenges arise, he stays calm, communicates openly, and works alongside his team to find a path forward. That relationship-first approach has helped Corey build a business centered on strong Realtor partnerships, repeat clients, and referrals, while earning Guild Mortgage's Circle of Honor recognition.

 

Born and raised in the Richmond area, Corey attended James Madison University before beginning his career in education. Today, Richmond remains both the community he serves and the place he calls home.

 

Outside of work, Corey enjoys golfing, reading, staying active, and spending time outdoors with his wife and children. He has also supported the Fatherhood Foundation of Virginia through initiatives including Funding Fathers and Father Christmas.

 

For Corey, closing a loan isn't the end of the relationship. His goal is to remain a trusted mortgage resource clients and real estate partners can call long after the closing table.
