After finding a house and putting in an offer, we applied for a mortgage at my local credit union in Idaho Falls ID and got approval from the loan officer. Once we had the approval, the sellers put in an offer in St. George with a substantial non refundable escrow. A week later, our credit union came back and said the underwriter denied our loan due to $3500 monthly income that they couldn’t count. We had 3 years of bank statements showing the income but it wasn’t good enough. The sellers realtor recommended Matt at Guild who I immediately contacted.
