Ron Smith

Hi, I am Ron Smith, and I am a loan officer here in Central Oregon with Guild Mortgage.  I was attracted to Guild Mortgage because they have a long-standing reputation for providing world class service to their customers and they have many products and downpayment assistance programs to support my clientele. 

Throughout my 33-year career as mortgage professional and before that a real estate broker, I have had a passion for helping first-time buyers and veterans realize their dream of homeownership.  I enjoy sharing my experience and knowledge with customers as an instructor for the various non-profit housing centers throughout Oregon, teaching continuing education classes for real estate professionals. 

My experience has been developed over the years from being a loan officer, branch manager, processing, and underwriting manager.  I am a certified Homebuyer Education Instructor, Freddie Mac Home Smart Instructor and a Military and Veteran Housing Instructor.

One accomplishment in my career I am proud of is that I received an award from the Governor of Oregon for helping the most people to buy a home with the Oregon Bond First Time Buyer Program.

When I am not helping people buy homes, I like to spend time with my family, visiting breweries in other states and fly fishing.
