I’ve been in the mortgage industry for over 14 years now, and it’s been an incredible journey that’s allowed me to wear many hats. My favorite two? Loan originator and marketer. On the loan side, my focus is simple: be honest, stay transparent, communicate clearly and often, and build real relationships. I especially enjoy working with veterans as my way of showing gratitude for their sacrifice and service. There’s also nothing quite like helping first-time homebuyers experience the joy of getting their first set of keys or delivering a client experience that even the most seasoned homebuyers haven’t seen before.

On the marketing side, I get to tap into my creative side, which has always been a huge part of who I am. In my mid-20s, I owned a bar and music venue for several years, which taught me how much I love connecting with people and thinking outside the box to get people through the door. Prior to serving others at Guild Mortgage, I was also an owner of a boutique mortgage company. That experience taught me the importance of creating brand messaging that not only scaled our business but also built brand trust within our community. Those efforts even earned us “Best of The Woodlands” recognition several years in a row.

Fast forward to 2021, when I became obsessed with video content—learning everything I could about creating and sharing stories that truly resonate and educate. Now, I get to use those skills every day to help families, empower clients, and inspire other loan officers to see their role as far more than just pushing paperwork.

As The Gonzalez Team (Gonz Team), my wife, Sissy, and I have lovingly become known as the "Spouses Funding Houses." Being able to work alongside my partner has added even more meaning to what we do. As a family man, I know how much a home means to my family and me. It’s where memories are made, traditions begin, and life truly happens. Helping others find that same sense of home is what keeps me passionate about what I do every day.
