Josh Hansen

I'm Josh Hansen, a Mortgage Loan Officer with Guild Mortgage serving Oak Harbor and Whidbey Island, Washington. I've worked in the mortgage industry since 2019, helping buyers make informed decisions through clear explanations, thoughtful preparation, and an organized lending process. My work focuses on VA home loans and first-time homebuyers, particularly active-duty military members and families relocating to the Oak Harbor area. I know that a first duty station, a new community, and a first home can bring a lot of questions at once. I enjoy helping clients understand the financing process, explore their options, and develop a plan that fits their circumstances. I also work with established homeowners and buyers navigating more complex transitions, including home equity and short-term financing considerations when purchasing a new property. Rather than start with a product, I prefer to understand the goal, the timeline, and the decisions that need to be made. From there, we can talk through appropriate options and what each one involves.

 

Before becoming a loan officer, I worked in marketing, including real estate marketing and website development. That background shaped my approach to lending: strong communication, careful organization, and reliable systems make complicated experiences easier to navigate. I enjoy building lasting relationships with clients and real estate partners, often through the simple act of sitting down for coffee and having a good conversation.

 

My family and I moved to Whidbey Island in 2021, where we operate a 25-acre Christmas tree farm. Outside of mortgages and farm work, I enjoy running, biking, and reading. Whidbey Island is home, and I value the chance to serve the people who live here or are preparing to join this community.
