About Me

I’ve been in Oregon since 2006 and have been drawn to the Pacific Northwest since I was in my youth. I love all things about the mountains. Most often, you’ll find me rock climbing at my home crag of Smith Rock. However, I’ve been known to travel the world to experience different climbing destinations. I also love to trail run, ski and hike. I’m a true lover of spicy foods and have the nickname: Chili Pepper. My favorite rest day activity is trying a new recipe in the kitchen and wowing my family and friends with delicious foods. I’ll (typically) let them add in their own spice.  

As a mortgage lender since 2007, one of my biggest compliments surrounding my work is my level of communication. In the beginning, I’ll explain how the process works and help you understand all the programs that you can choose from. If you’ve got a tricky scenario, then I’ll figure it out. I love a good brain twister. When I submit your loan, I’ll keep you (and your realtor) up to date throughout the process. I’ll set timely expectations along the way so that we won’t miss important timelines. I enjoy offering the possibility of closing early because the loan process has been so efficient. I love to hear from my first-time homebuyers, “You made a seemingly difficult process easy.”  I’m excited to earn your trust and help you find your dream home! We have loan options to fit every situation, from down payment assistance programs for first-time homebuyers to government-sponsored programs for military families and rural residents or jumbo loans in high-cost markets.



A Conventional loan is a great option if you have an average to high credit score and little debt. This allows you to take advantage of lower interest rates. With these types of loans, you have the option to put 20% down, which eliminates the need for private mortgage insurance (PMI) and saves you money. If you don’t have a large down payment saved up though, don’t worry. We have Conventional loan options for down payments as low as 3%.

If you’re purchasing your first home, you have options to buy without saving a full down payment. Down payment assistance (DPA) programs can help with your down payment in the form of a loan or grant that is often forgiven over time.


If you’re looking to buy on a tight budget, these loans are a great option. It’s easier to qualify for FHA loans because they carry lower credit score requirements and lower down payment options starting at 3.5% down. They’re also insured by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) and only issued by FHA-approved lenders.

Kristen was the an amazing help throughout our home buying journey! She was very patient and worked with us at our own pace over the course of several months. Kristen was fantastic! I've bought a handful of homes in my life and been through a few refinances as well, and she is by far the best loan officer I've ever worked with!
