John Schmidlin

I've spent the last 28 years helping people achieve their homeownership goals as a Loan Officer, Branch Manager, and Business Owner. Currently licensed in North Carolina and Tennessee, I am committed to serving clients across the region.
 
In addition to my lending experience, I'm also a North Carolina Licensed General Contractor, which gives me a unique edge when working with clients interested in manufactured homes, single-wides, double-wides, modular homes, renovations, and new construction. I understand the ins and outs of both financing and building, and I love helping people bring their vision to life.
 
I pride myself on strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, clear communication, and a deep understanding of guidelines and lending processes. I approach every client relationship with integrity, and I'm always willing to go the extra mile to be a true partner in their journey.
 
Working with first-time buyers is one of my favorite parts of the job. Whether it's down payment assistance, credit challenges, or just needing someone to coach them through the process, I'm here to guide and explain every step. I see each situation as a puzzle to solve, and I take pride in helping clients navigate even the most complex scenarios.
 
Outside of work, I'm passionate about travel and have explored almost all 50 states, as well as parts of Europe and Central America. I enjoy sightseeing, hiking, camping, road trips, and RV adventures, especially in the mountains, along the coast, and anywhere outdoors. I believe in maintaining a strong family balance, and I'm proud to be an Appalachian State alum.
