Chris Wood

I was born and raised in Mount Vernon, Illinois and have a Bachelor's Degree in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. After college, I moved to the St. Louis area, where I have been working in the mortgage industry since 1998. Early in my career I worked at the larger banks in the St. Louis area. I chose to leave the banks and work at Guild Mortgage Company over 11 years ago because it gave me the ability to have local processing, underwriting and closing that could meet the demands of my referral partners and clients every transaction. Since buying a home is one of the largest financial decisions a client will ever make, I want to make sure it is a very smooth and enjoyable process each and every time. At Guild, I have the ability to originate a large range of mortgage programs including CONVENTIONAL, FHA, VA, USDA, JUMBO as well as many niche products for first-time homebuyers. I have been married to my wife Michelle for over 25 years. She is a head principal in the Mehlville School District and we are blessed to have two children, Alexis and Jacob. During my free time I enjoy playing golf, traveling, attending all of my kids events and spending quality time with my friends and family.
