Chris Wood
Sr. Loan Officer NMLS# 577074

About Me
Chris Wood was born and raised in Mount Vernon, Illinois and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. After college, Chris moved to the St. Louis area, where he has built a successful 20 plus year mortgage career.
Chris was a top-producing loan officer for many of the larger banks in the St. Louis area during his early mortgage career. He credits his success to one simple philosophy, treating all customers as he would want to be treated. Chris chose to leave the larger banks and work at Cornerstone Mortgage (now Guild Mortgage Company) years ago because it gave him the ability to have a local processing, underwriting and closing team so he could meet the demands of his referral partners and clients every transaction.
To Chris, local service means decisions are made quickly and closings happen on time, every time with no exceptions. Since buying a home is one of the most important decisions of a customer’s life, Chris wants to make sure it is a very smooth and enjoyable process. At Guild, Chris has the ability to originate a large range of mortgage programs including CONVENTIONAL, FHA, VA, USDA, JUMBO as well as many niche products for first-time homebuyers and health care professionals.
Chris is married to his wife, Michelle, who is a Principal in the Mehlville School District. Chris and Michelle have two children, Alexis and Jacob. During Chris’s free time he enjoys playing golf, traveling, attending all of his kids events and spending quality time with his family.
