What started out as job in 1999 evolved into a life changing career. I remember being told my responsibilities were to help potential homeowners purchase and help current homeowners save money. It sounded like a lot of numbers and long hours… and it was.

About 2002, I had really hit my stride, was always listed in the top 10% in my industry for sales, but regardless of the success it still felt like a job. I then met a single mother (Maria) who was applying for a mortgage loan so her and her (2) children could stop renting and move out of a rough area. I was not only able to get her approved but was able to help with down payment assistance as well.

However, it was not until the day of that closing that I realized what I was actually doing. When Maria was done signing her last document (there was a lot back then) she had tears in her eyes as did her children. Home ownership met so much to them, but it really had nothing to do with the home but more to do with their family. I realized at that moment what an unbelievable opportunity I was given to be able to help others.

We hear much in the US that home ownership is the American Dream, but it is much more, home ownership builds families, dreams and memories. I am proud to be a part of that! Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life!
