I thought owning a home in Hawaii was impossible, but then I was introduced to Jessica who well exceeded my expectations. There were times when I felt discouraged and confused. But Jessica was always available and responsive to all of my needs. It’s been an emotional roller coaster ride and she was there to support me during my lowest moments and also there to celebrate the small victories and then again preparing me for the next steps to come. I feel like a developed a strong bond with Jessica. She’s trustworthy and highly knowledgeable in what she does. Owning my first home is a huge accomplishment on so many different levels. First off, we would like to point out that, as first-time home buyers diving into an unknown environment, we would not have known what to expect nor be able to identify what is normal or not, or what would be considered good customer service or poor customer service. We could have been receiving poor service and not even be aware due to not having any other experiences or standards to compare with. Hopefully this opening statement will help to set the tone and maintain a certain level of emphasis and expression of our gratitude along with our input. We (my better half and I) had the pleasure to work with one of Guild Mortgage's loan officers, Jessica Takayesu. Along with her real estate colleague Brittney Woo (from Locations Hawaii), they made quite a strong tag team. After having survived the process of our very first home purchase, we could not have asked for better service and guidance than what we received and experienced while working with those two. It is often taken for granted the amount of people skills and communication, as well as some other soft skills, that is actually involved in this line of work. Whether it's being a good listener, a good talker, being able to read your customer, catering to what the customer wants/needs, presenting a welcoming/friendly environment, the list can go on and on. Another thing to note is that these skills are usually being performed on the spot during the first meet with the customer. It's no small feat. My biggest fear and/or most anticipated point of the process was having to sit down and discuss numbers, amounts, loan payments, interest rates, etc. I was dreading the thought of it once we reached that point, but luckily, we had Jessica taking the lead as she guided us, step by step, through the whole process. It was obvious to us that she completely understood and stayed aware of the fact that she was working with first-time home buyers. To be able to walk us through in such a way where even I forgot about any existing feelings of dread or anxiousness without realizing it until later, that was an accomplishment all on its own. Jessica had us read like an open book and she knew exactly what to do and what to say at every turn of the page in order to keeps things going easy for us, all the while still managing to keep us engaged. I feel like Jessica's success in our interactions had a lot to do with the amount of information she provided, and her willingness to educate us on certain details when it was necessary. Our real estate agent Brittney would also jump in throughout the many discussions to teach things from the "real estate" perspective whenever necessary, as did Jessica who would also add extra info from the "loan officer" perspective when necessary Aside from the education, they also remained very flexible in their thought processes and were very understanding. They answered any questions we asked as best they could and kept everything transparent and crystal clear for us. I can recall a step where Jessica calculated example scenarios depending on our budget, and she would be able to show estimates for things such as how much we would need for a down payment, or total monthly costs we would need pay for the length of the loan, etc. We even overestimated our budget at one point and we realized the numbers she was calculating from it was just too high, but when we requested if we could go lower, she had no issue at all with it. She adjusted and granted any of our requests and settled any of our concerns. There was mention that sometimes other loan officers and/or real estate agents don't take the time to really educate and keep everything clear with their clients. Going back to what I mentioned in my opening paragraph, even if I did end up working with an agent/loan officer that didn't put in as much as they should've been, I might've never known or I would be clueless since I didn't have a comparison. This is why I cannot express enough how grateful I am to have met Jessica and Brittney for their assistance in this big step in my and my girlfriend's lives, which was also a very big step in our relationship. The amount of care and effort those two displayed was above and beyond for us and they easily exceeded our expectations. They were prompt when meeting every single deadline throughout the process, and they remained diligent as they carried out every task that they needed to on time so that we could finally land the close on our first home! Now we have an idea of the service we would want to get from real estate agents and/or loan officers when we decide to sell/buy in the future! Thanks again to everyone for providing an awesome first-time experience to start off our home-owning venture!

Jessica is really great to work with on transactions. She is extremely flexible when it comes to getting PAL & VOF at a least expected hour of the day and she remains pleasant about it. Jessica is patient in riding the wave with clients that are full speed ahead, then gone with the wind, then pop back up and want to immediately put in an offer. Crazy times right now in real estate, but so very doable because Jessica crunches those numbers and makes it happen. Can't wait to tackle many more transactions this year with this talented lender.
