Mark James

Mark James moved to Oahu from Long Beach CA. in 1960 with his parents and 2 brothers and moved into a brand new oceanfront home in old Ewa Beach, near the Hau Bush area.

Attended James Campbell High School, Leeward Community College and University of Hawaii at Manoa.

Got into Business Administration at UH Manoa by pulling IBM registration cards, as back in the early 1970's everyone else wanted to be in the College of Education.

Got a good taste of business education from the professors and students, at what is now the Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawaii-Manoa Campus.

Got into mortgage lending in 1975 and have worked for firms like Mason-McDuffie Mortgage, Weyerhaeuser Mortgage, Irwin Mortgage as well as Bank of Hawaii and Finance Factors Ltd. locally.

I am a three time past president of the Mortgage Bankers Association of Hawaii , (1995, 2011 and 2012) and a founding board member of the Hawaii HomeOwnership Center in 2002.

Having done forward mortgages for decades, I am also now working with Hawaii seniors on Reverse Mortgage lending.
