Born in Gainesville, Georgia, Lacey’s formative years in the rolling landscapes of White County left an indelible mark. Raised just beyond Atlanta’s city limits, she honed her skills in marketing and processing, mastering the art of communication and problem-solving.
Lacey entered the mortgage industry in the summer of 2006 at Homestar Financial as a marketing manager. She quickly discovered a passion for mortgage loans, transitioning into a mortgage processor role. It wasn’t long before she became a loan originator, based near the corporate hub in Gainesville. Her influence extended far beyond, with the south metro area as her canvas and Griffin, GA, as her second home. Meanwhile, Cleveland, GA, remains her sanctuary—a place where mortgage applications meet human stories.
After a lifetime of loyalty and commitment to Homestar Financial, market forces led to its closure in October 2023. In November 2023, Academy Mortgage welcomed Lacey, where she embraced her new role with enthusiasm.
Lacey’s mission transcends interest rates and loan terms. She becomes the architect of homeownership, guiding clients through the labyrinth of paperwork. While she holds an associate degree in accounting, it’s her empathy that sets her apart—seeing beyond credit scores and income statements to understand the hearts behind each application.
Her personal life mirrors her professional. With a 12-year-old son and new born that was born in August, new chapters are unfolding. In her downtime, she enjoys relaxing in hot baths and creating crafts for her family. Her husband of 18 years, an Army veteran, deepens her passion for VA loans—a program close to her heart.
Beyond spreadsheets, Lacey wears many hats. A faithful member of the PTO at Jack P Nix for six years, she is a community builder and a true beacon of service. At church events and other initiatives, you’ll find her at the forefront, sleeves rolled up. Her weekends are spent on a farm—a slice of heaven where Nigerian dwarf goats roam, chickens cluck, and Jameson, her goldendoodle, plays. Her life is always an adventure.
