In an interview with Troy regarding the challenges of today’s loan business, he states:

“The majority of today’s loans are processed through the internet using electronic applications and signatures so that face to face meetings are often unnecessary. But we’re talking about the single biggest investment most families make in their lives. My clients love the convenience, but I actually miss meeting with them because I feel it is so important to develop a relationship with them. And that relationship has to be founded on trust. So my challenge in today’s loan business is to convey that trust through the same technology that is providing convenience to my clients. That’s why I put together the video.”

Troy’s career has evolved from serving as a local mortgage consultant to also being an active, national member in the mortgage industry. Troy is now a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA). He travels regularly to Washington DC with a consortium of peers to address mortgage industry issues with members of Congress. In one of Troy’s recent trips for the MBA’s National Advocacy Conference, he discussed obstacles home buyers face. Specific goals included:

• Preserve the existing deductibility of mortgage interest.
• Provide access to credit for all borrowers, regardless of income level.
• Maintain the stability of FHA which is critical to borrowers who have the income to make mortgage payments but require a smaller down payment to obtain their goal of home ownership.

A graduate of Christian Brothers High School and California State University, Sacramento, Troy remains active in the local community. Serving on various educational and service-oriented boards, he is an active member of the West Sacramento Rotary Club, the Sacramento Sutter Club as well as the La Salle Club, the fundraising arm for Christian Brothers athletics. In the past, Troy has served on the Sacramento Children’s Home Advisory committee and was past president of the Christian Brothers Alumni Association.
